Fluorescent Nanoscope – experience of transferring science to business

Abstract

Late 90’s have met with increasing interest to nano-bio systems in basic and applied research, but researchers were limited in their ability to visualize structures and processes on nanometer scale. Stereonic LLC develops a nanometer-scale-resolution fluorescent microscopy technology that can be used in a number of different areas of research, diagnostics, quality assurance etc. The technology is based on patented photoactivation-excitation-registration-depletion principle that can be applied for a wide range of fluorescent dyes including caged fluorescein- and rhodamine- based dyes and photoactivatable proteins. The talk will give an overview of the state of art in the industry, our current developments and share an experience of transferring science to business.
