A novel gain-clamped SOA for linear amplification in WDM-PON

Abstract

We propose a novel gain-clamped SOA based on ring cavity. Gain-clamping characteristics are discussed. The results show that channel crosstalk can be suppressed for upstream amplification in WDM-PON by using the device properly.
