Abstract

The need for active materials suitable for optical waveguiding devices has stimulated work on the growth of LiNbO3. Thin films of this important ferroelectric material have been grown by a variety of techniques which include, diffusion processes, epitaxial growth by melting and more recently, liquid phase epitaxy.1-7
