Slow light propagation for high optical information density in active photonic lattices

Abstract

Evanescent field coupling in closely packed micro- and nano-laser cavity arrays supports optical modulation waves propagating near the material sound speed. The possibility of achieving high information density with ratio of delay-time to pulse-time approaching unity is addressed.
