Backward-Propagating-Slow-Light in Inverted Plasmonic Taper

Abstract

Modes in plasmonic metal-dielectric-metal structure, at frequencies exceeding the surface plasmon frequency can be simultaneous slow-light, have backward phase propagation and exhibit inverse cutoff characteristics compared to regular photonic characteristics.
