Abstract

In addition to the interest in them for coding information in high-bit-rate time-division multiplexed optical communication systems, solitons are attractive for use in all-optical processing devices. Indeed, the uniform phase shift of solitons has been exploited for femtosecond pulse selfswitching in fiber interferometers.
