Abstract

Polydiacetylenes are well known as materials having large nonresonant third-order susceptibilities. We have measured phase changes in PTS-polydiacetylene channel waveguides as a function of optical intensity using Mach-Zehnder interferometric method. The results are highly encouraging in terms of all-optical device applications of the material.
