Abstract
Two Section Single Cavity semiconductor lasers have received a lot of attention with regard to being suitable sources for coherent transmitters or as local oscillators in coherent fiber-optic systems, where the tuning and FM response of such lasers is important[1],[2]. The two sections are driven by currents I1 and I2 which are independent but the resulting current densities interact optoelectronically. TSSC Fabry-Perot Lasers exhibit contours of constant power in the I1,I2 plane and whose threshold contour closely resembles the non-linearity typical of electrical multiplexers.
