Abstract
Lithium Tantalate (LiTaO3) attracts considerable interest as a material for integrated optics due to its large electrooptic and nonlinear coefficients, similar to those of Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3), but most importantly, due to its much higher threshold for optical damage than LiNbO3.
