Design of polarization insensitive semiconductor optical amplifiers at 1300 nm

Abstract

Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers find applications as switches and wavelength convertors. Linearization of the gain may lead to use as amplifiers, especially at 1300 nm, where the fiber amplifiers based on the fluoride fibers are not very efficient.
