A Novel Design Technique for Mode Control in Multilayer Waveguides

Abstract

The phase shift upon reflection from interfaces can be used to control propagation characteristics such as mode profile and chromatic dispersion. We demonstrate this in the case of efficient second harmonic generation in diffused channel waveguides.
