Ultrafast all-optical signal processing with Symmetric Mach-Zehnder type all-optical switches

Abstract

Ultrafast all-optical signal processing is described. We achieved error-free demultiplexing from 168 to 10.5 Gbps, using a hybrid-integrated Symmetric Mach-Zehnder all-optical switch. We also achieved error-free pulse regeneration at 84 Gbps and wavelength conversion at 168 Gbps.
