Optoelectronic hybrid-integrated PLCs for photonic networks

Abstract

Optoelectronic hybrid-integration using planar lightwave circuit (PLC) platforms is a promising way of achieving the variety of optical modules required for future photonic networks. This paper briefly reviews PLC hybrid-integration technology and reports on recent research at NTT’s laboratories.
