Abstract

A novel widely tunable add-drop filter is proposed and analyzed using a split-step time-domain model. It is demonstrated that the filtering bandwidth of the device is very narrow enough to be used in a 50GHz DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing) system. Also it is shown that the designed device can be widely tuned by adjusting the position of reflection peaks of sampled gratings in waveguides.
