Abstract

Binary radially-chirped Bragg and graded-index Fresnel fibre lens couplers are compared. With 41µm focal length, and 2.3 average refractive index, a radially-chirped Bragg fibre lens reduces spot-size from 4.5µm to 600nm incurring 0.4dB loss.
