Ultra-compact Optical Coupler and Splitter using High-Contrast Grating Hollow-Core Waveguide

Abstract

Large size reduction of photonic components by a factor of 10 is predicted using hollow-core waveguides based on high-contrast grating. Simulation results show extremely compact coupler and splitter with a length of 26um (16 λ) and 3.6um (2.4 λ), respectively.
