On-chip Nanofocusing based on a Hybrid Dielectric-Plasmonic Tapered Waveguide

Abstract

We present a novel on-chip plasmonic nanofocusing technique based on tapering the metal layer of a hybrid Si-Au waveguide. Input optical energy becomes strongly concentrated and highly localized at the metallic tip.
