InP photonic integrated circuit for BOTDR fiber sensing

Abstract

We realized a potentially low-cost optical fiber sensor read-out unit. The device allows for a measurement distance resolution of about 2 m along a sensing fiber using 25 ns wide pulses generated on chip.
