Coherent perfect absorption by plasmonic nanoantennas on SOI waveguides

Abstract

Plasmonic nanoantennas as coherent perfect absorbers on top of SOI waveguides are explored using 3D-FDTD simulations. Losses of roughly 1% and extinction ratios better than 25 dB were achieved for modulator and switching applications.
