Designing Arbitrary Linear Optical Components Without Calculations

Abstract

We show any linear optical function on a coherent light beam, such as arbitrary spatial mode coupling and conversion, can be progressively and adaptively designed in a feedback-controlled dynamically self-configuring and self-stabilizing integrated optics approach.
