Abstract

Cost, Energy and Bandwidth Density system requirements are driving photonic interconnection to shorter distances and to higher levels of integration. The number of optical interconnects scales inversely with distance to the chip. Silicon Microphotonics is capable of both high volume production and high levels of integration to meet this challenge.
