GaAs optomechanical circuits

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We present optomechanical circuits in GaAs, where localized photons and phonons interact via the photoelastic effect, and are coupled to propagating photons and phonons that are read out optically or electrically (via the piezoelectric effect). Experiments demonstrating the coupling of radio frequency waves, GHz phonons, and optical photons will be discussed.
