Investigation on moldable Ge-Sb-Se ternary chalcogenide glasses for night vision system

Abstract

Ge-Sb-Se ternary chalcogenide glasses for night vision system have been investigated and chosen as candidates based on their IR transmittance (IR transmittance : >50% between 8 ~ 12um), thermal stability (glass transition temperature : 260 ~ 300 °C), and mechanical strength (Vickers hardness : >160 kgf/mm2).
