Integrated Indium Phosphide Pulse Position Modulation Transmitter for Free Space Communications

Abstract

An integrated indium phosphide transmitter is demonstrated for pulse position modulation (PPM) free space optical communication. The transmitter demonstrates an 8-nm wavelength tuning range and a 28-dB extinction ratio for 16-ary PPM.
