Integrated Silicon Nitride Fan-in/Fan-out for Multi-Core Fiber Interconnects

We propose an integrated fan-in/fan-out for multi-core fiber interconnects using a focusing grating coupler array realized on a single etch SiN platform. Coupling loss of 14.5 dB with a 6 dB bandwidth of 80 nm and crosstalk of 35 dB are demonstrated.
