Slow light propagation in extended photonic crystal coupled-cavity waveguides featuring a large group index-bandwidth product

Abstract

We present the experimental characterization of slow-light photonic crystal coupled-cavity waveguides in silicon with a group-index bandwidth product ≈ 0.47, comprising up to 800 cavities. Limitations on slow light propagation are identified.
