Abstract

The theory of input and output in quantum amplifers has been newly considered by Caves1 and a theory of quantization of electronic circuits and transmission lines developed by Yurke and Denker.2 The former paper considers only general constraints that are implied by the general principles of quantum mechanics. The latter considers specific models of electronic systems and models all dissipation as being caused by losses down transmission lines. However, the equations derived are quantum Langevin equations, which can only be solved in linear cases.
