Abstract

Chaos in optical systems has been an area of recent major interest in laser physics. Optical chaos has been investigated for passive as well as active (laser) systems. Particularly, chaos in active systems is an attractive subject, not only from the aspect of physical interest in the laser instability problem but also from the aspect of practical necessity in stable laser operation under optically severe environments.
