Abstract

It has been known for many years that the observed velocity of light in a moving medium differs from that in a stationary medium. This effect, namely the Fresnel drag, was explained by the special theory of relativity. While special relativity has been tested accurately, n0 tests of comparable precision can be claimed regarding the theory’s predictions for light propagation in moving media.
