Abstract

The plane-wave Maxwell-Bloeh model for a unidirectional ring laser has been a common point of reference for most theoretical studies of laser instabilities. Until recently, the dynamical predictions of this model have been sought with the help of the additional simplifications implied by the so-called mean field limit.
