Abstract

We report here a newly observed phenomenon—an anomalous resonant dip of two-photon ionization with 3s3p 1P1 as an intermediate state in Mg vapor and a strong stimulated emission at 5183.7 Å , corresponding to the transition of 3s4s3S–3s3p3P, when a laser was scanned over the 3s2 1S–3s3p 1P1 resonance (2852.1 Å).
