Abstract

Gated spectral hole burning has been observed in both R lines of Cr3+ in SrTiO3. Of several Cr3+ systems studied (YAG, YGG, Al2O3, and SrTiO3), SrTiO3:Cr3+ was the only one to exhibit persistent hole burning.
