Abstract
Recent experimental observations on the multiphoton ionization of atoms by intense laser fields include results for circular polarization1-3 in addition to the earlier work with linearly polarized light. This now makes possible a direct comparison of photoelectron yield as a function of polarization of the laser as the intensity of the field is changed. This was recently done by Hippler et al.3
