Abstract

The photon burst technique1 provides a very sensitive technique to perform high-resolution laser spectroscopy on small samples and weak atomic beams of certain elements. The technique has proved very useful for the measurement of the isotope shifts of small samples of accelerator produced radioactive Ba and Sr isotopes.2,3
