Abstract

Many different nonlinear phenomena and techniques have been used to produce phase conjugate beams. Until recently, however, only barium titanate1 (BaTiO3) and cerium-doped strontium barium niobate2,3 (SEN) have been successfully used as self-pumped phase conjugate mirrors for milliwatt beam powers. Self-pumped phase conjugation, as reported here, is completely self-contained and requires no external mirrors, pumping beams, or applied electric fields.
