Abstract

The first great success of business utilizing Quantum-Electronics has been in lightwave communications. By virtue of. outstanding transmission media, that is, low loss and low dispersive glass fibers, drastic change is going on in telecommunication networks. The innovation cannot be carried out without Micro-Electronics and Opto-Electronics, which can stimulate the technical environment to be disitalized so as to realize flexible and economical telecommunication services. The laser diode is exactly a key device and the device still remains in one of the major academic topics in Opto-Electronics field for more than decade.
