Abstract
We found anomalous behaviors of Raman-heterodyne signals1 (RHS) of unclear coherent transients in Pr3+ :La.F3 in the presence of a static magnetic field Ho(~100 Oe), As shown in Fig 1 the laser beam (5925,2Å) Is along the C3~axis of the sample crysta1 (0.1%, 4×4×2mm), After the population difference is created in the ground state sublevels by a pumping light pulse (~50ms), an rf field (//C3) is applied to excite nuclear- coherent transients. The RHS are detected with the aid of a probe 1ight pulse The phase of the reference rf signal is chosen so that the maximum bell-shaped spin echo signal is obtained.
