Abstract

This paper describes frequency domain 4-wave mixing spectroscopy (4WM) studies in CdSSe and CdSe microcrystallite doped glasses and GaAs/AlGaAa multiple quantum wells using low intensity (≈ 100mW/cm2) cw dye lasers. The results show the presence of ultranarrow resonances with widths ranging from approximately 100 Hz to 100 kHz. In addition, there are indications of contributions to the nonlinear response which represent much faster relaxation processes.
