Abstract
In the recent years, a new spectroscopic technique called time-delay four-wave mixing with incoherent light(TDFWM-IL) was developed.[1-3] By this technique, the transverse relaxation time T2 (i.e. dephasing time) of subpicosecond can be measured with nanosecond pulse laser, even CW laser. Until now, we have not found the data about dephasing time of ruby in the absorption bands 4T1 or 4T2 because of difficulty in measuring such a ultrashort time. Can we apply this technique to obtain these data? When this technique is applied to a two-level system and an absorption band, is there any difference between them? Keeping this in mind, we studied in detail the TDFSM-IL in the absorption band 4T2 of ruby.
