Abstract
Recently it has become possible to make long wavelength diodes with absorber regions (made by dividing the top contact or by varying the doping levels), which are bistable at room temperatures [1,2]. Considerable effort has been devoted to theoretical understanding of the propcrtics of this type of device [3,4] since bistability is not always observed.
