Abstract

Recently¹ accurate experiments on multimode instabilities and self-pulsing in optical bistability have been performed at the University of Lille. The nonlinear medium in these experiments, which could effectively be described as a set of two-level molecules, was contained in a long Fabry- Perot cavity with nonideal mirrors.
