Second harmonic generation in erbium doped single-mode fibers

Abstract

We have investigated the process of optical generation in single-mode optical fibers, the Ge doped core of which had been additionally doped with rare-earth ions. Such fibers are of current strong interest, because they can be used in optical fiber lasers.
