Abstract

Nonlinearities in the optical response of excitons originate from anharmonic exciton-photon and exciton-exciton interactions. We present first results of a numerical study of the coherent nonlinear optical response of 2-D excitons in a strong perpendicular magnetic field. This system shares many properties with other quasi-0-D systems, such as semiconductor microcrystallites. Experimentally, it provides a very controlled environment to study the intrinsic physics of 3-D quantum confinement.
