Abstract

In recent years, femtosecond thermo-modulation experiments1–3 have been performed to study the relaxation dynamics of electrons in metals. The electrons were heated to a high (>1000 K) nonequilibrium temperature. In these extreme conditions, the dynamics depends strongly on the electron temperature resulting in a nonexponential decay.
