Abstract

The dynamics of ion and atom desorption from dielectric surfaces are central to an understanding of laser-induced damage in optical Materials.1,2 Ion desorption is of interest, although it is not the dominant process, because it is particularly sensitive to laser-induced changes in surface electronic structure and composition.
