Abstract

Rydberg atoms can provide remarkable manifestations of cavity QED and other quantum optical phenomena. The collective NA atom Dicke model (NA > 1) provides a good theoretical description at microwave frequencies.1,2 Experiments3 substantially squeezing one component of the em field have stimulated interest in the effects of a squeezed vacuum on such systems. We report new results for NA > 1-Ry atoms in a squeezed vacuum in cavities or otherwise.
