Abstract

The dynamics of isomerization reactions in solution are of interest not only for their chemical significance but also as useful probes into the nature of various types of solvent effect on chemical reactions.1,2 We report on recent experiments designed to understand both the mechanism of and effect of solvent friction on the cis-trans isomerization of stilbene.
