Abstract

We discuss theoretically the interaction of a quantized cavity mode with a two-level system. Besides the radiative atom-cavity interaction, we include damping of the atom by spontaneous emission into vacuum background modes, and assume a coupling of the cavity mode to broadband thermal and squeezed input fields.
