Collimation of Atomic Beams Under Coherent Population Trapping

Abstract

In this report we consider a cooling mechanism for Λ-atoms which are in the field of counterpropagating beams with two different frequencies. The mechanism is based on the coherent population trapping (CPT) phenomenon[1].
