Abstract

The paper deals with the switching behaviour of a hybrid optical bistable device (HOBD) using a tunable directional coupler filter (TDCF) as optical modulator, when pulses of different wavelength are applied at the input. The HOBD configuration is presented in Fig. 1. The TDCF output arms were included in two feedback loops, one positive using a photodetector and the noninverting input of the amplifier circuit and another one negative, using a second photodetector and the inverting input of the same amplifier.
